Common Questions

Everything you need to know about working with C&C Marine and Repair.

C&C Marine and Repair constructs a wide variety of marine vessels including towboats, push boats, dredges, deck barges, spud barges, tank barges, offshore supply vessels (OSVs), and specialty marine craft. Each vessel is custom-designed and built to our customers’ specific operational requirements, with integrated onsite engineering ensuring optimal performance and constructability.

Our shipyard is located at 701 Engineers Rd., Belle Chasse, LA 70037, in the heart of the New Orleans metropolitan area. Our facility sits along active waterways with direct access to the Mississippi River and Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, making vessel delivery convenient for customers operating across the Gulf Coast and inland waterway systems.

Project timelines vary depending on vessel type, size, and complexity. Barges generally have the shortest build times, followed by towboats, with dredges and other complex vessels requiring the longest timelines. Because we build indoors with overhead cranes and have integrated engineering on site, we consistently deliver on time—avoiding the weather delays and design miscommunications that cause overruns at other yards. Contact us with your project details for a specific timeline estimate.

Yes. Repair and conversion services are a core part of our business for commercial marine vessels. We handle structural repairs, hull modifications, vessel conversions, machinery installations, and emergency repair work on barges, towboats, dredges, and other commercial vessels. Please note that we do not service recreational boats. Our ABS and USCG certified welders and skilled tradespeople can accommodate projects ranging from minor maintenance to major structural overhauls. We understand that vessel downtime is costly, so we prioritize fast turnaround without compromising quality.

C&C Marine and Repair is certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG). Our welders hold AWS (American Welding Society) certifications, and our facility exceeds OSHA safety compliance standards. These certifications ensure every vessel we build or repair meets the highest international standards for structural integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Our blast and paint facility features a patented robotic blasting system with 3 robots and 24/7 operational capability. Each robot delivers the efficiency of approximately 10 manual blasters, allowing us to complete surface preparation faster and more consistently than any traditional facility. The entire operation takes place indoors in a climate-controlled environment, which eliminates weather-related delays and ensures superior paint adhesion and finish quality.

Yes. One of our key advantages is that our engineering team is located onsite at our shipyard. This integrated approach means our engineers design vessels that are optimized for both operational performance and construction efficiency. Unlike outsourced engineering, which can lead to overly complex designs and communication gaps, our in-house team works directly with production to create designs that are practical, efficient, and built right the first time.

While our shipyard is based in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, we serve customers throughout the Gulf Coast region and across the United States. Our vessels operate on inland waterways, coastal routes, the Gulf of Mexico, and offshore locations. We work with operators in the inland marine, offshore, dredging, government, and commercial sectors, and our location provides excellent logistical access for vessel delivery anywhere along the Gulf Coast and Mississippi River system.

Third, our patented robotic blast facility operates at speeds unmatched in the industry. And most importantly, we have a proven track record of delivering vessels on time and on budget, which saves our customers money by getting their vessels to work faster.
